Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Lead Engineer to drive continuous improvement across operations. You will lead data-driven CI, engineering, and automation efforts to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth.

This role interfaces with employees across all levels and may supervise CI resources, reporting to the CI Manager/Sr. CI Manager. The position emphasizes kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, and cross-functional project leadership to deliver sustained results in a dynamic logistics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain and 7+ years related experience in Warehousing, Transportation, or Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis. Maps and documents processes. Independently identifies process gaps; recommends and implements process improvement.
• Manages and completes high impact CI projects across the operation that lead to improved business results. Supports start-ups, retrofits and expansions including pricing inputs, go-live and steady state certifications.
• Demonstrate a high level of competency in wide range of engineering methods, Lean tools, and quality standards and coaches employees in the use and implementation of CI, Quality Assurance, & Lean principles.
• May supervise continuous improvement engineering and quality professionals. With guidance of manager participate in employment decisions and manage performance.
• Provide regular reports of data and actions to measure progress against the site objectives. Makes Inventory and/or Supply Chain strategy recommendations.
