Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Lead Engineer to propel continuous improvement across operations. You will identify, lead and drive data-driven CI, engineering, and automation efforts to raise safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

Interfaces with all levels and functions, potentially supervising CI resources and reporting to the CI Manager/Sr. CI Manager. You will design and implement improvement plans, coach teams in lean methods, and ensure sustained results through Kaizen events and Value

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field with substantial related experience.
• 7+ years in warehousing, transportation or manufacturing.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
• Data visualization (PowerBI/Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX) desirable.
• Experience developing and managing Leader Standard Work and PDCA processes.
• Knowledge of core engineering/data analytics functions (slotting, labor planning, layouts).
• Lean Six Sigma expertise required.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-impact CI projects across the operation to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost.
• Drive value through data-driven CI, engineering, and automation initiatives.
• Coach and mentor CI/QA professionals; participate in hiring and performance management.
• Facilitate Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events from ideation to sustainment.
• Provide regular data-driven progress reports and site objective alignment.
