Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Lead Engineer to drive Continuous Improvement across our warehousing and manufacturing operations. You will apply data analytics, Lean methods, and engineering techniques to identify gaps and deliver measurable gains in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

You will lead CI projects, coach teams, and interface with management at all levels. The role may supervise CI resources and reports to the CI Manager, with travel up to 10–15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain with 7+ years in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing.
• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain with 5+ years experience.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office suite with Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Data visualization (Power BI, Tableau) and database programming (SQL, DAX) preferred.
• Proficiency in Leader Standard Work, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, 5S.

Responsibilities

• Collects data and performs statistical analysis; documents processes and identifies gaps.
• Lead high-impact CI projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Coach teams in lean principles; facilitate Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events.
• May supervise CI engineers and QA professionals; support hiring decisions.
• Provide regular data-driven progress reports and sustainment of gains.
• Identify and support automation and other CI initiatives.
