Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks a Lead Engineer to advance continuous improvement across operations. This role drives data-driven CI, engineering, and automation to boost safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

You will lead cross-functional projects, coach teams, and interface with management and customers to deliver sustained results. Impactful strategies include value stream mapping, Kaizen events, and PDCA cycles; strong data analytics, Lean, and QA expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain with 7+ years in warehousing, transportation or manufacturing.
• Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Admin, or SCM with 5+ years experience; MBA requires undergrad Engineering.
• 7+ years in related warehousing/transportation or manufacturing experience.
• Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Access, Excel and PowerPoint & Visio (Expert).
• Data visualization (PowerBI/Tableau) and SQL/DAX knowledge (Intermediate/Preferred).
• Lean Six Sigma certified (Required); cPMP, ISO/QMS preferred.
• APICS or SCM certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead CI projects across the operation to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth.
• Collect data, perform statistical analysis, map processes, identify gaps and implement CI plans.
• Coach teams in lean, quality Assurance, and CI tools; facilitate Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events.
• Supervise CI engineers and QA professionals; participate in hiring and performance management.
• Provide regular progress reports and inventory/supply chain strategy recommendations.
• Support start-ups, retrofits and expansions including pricing inputs and go-live certifications.
