Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to advance continuous improvement across our operations in a data-driven role. You will identify, lead, and drive change using CI, engineering, and automation to boost safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth.

You will leverage Ryder lean tools and analytics to enable root cause elimination and sustained results. Reporting to the CI Manager/Sr. CI Manager, this high‑influence position interfaces with employees at all levels and may supervise CI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or supply chain with 7+ years in warehousing, transportation, or manufacturing.
• Master’s degree (IE, MBA, or similar) with 5+ years of related experience; MBA applicants require undergrad in engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; strong Power BI and SQL/DAX skills preferred.
• Knowledge of LEAN, PDCA, Kaizen, VSM, and related improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead high‑impact CI projects across the operation to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Collect data, perform analyses, identify gaps, and implement continuous improvement plans.
• Coach teams in lean methods, Kaizen events, and value stream mapping.
• Support start-ups, retrofits, go‑live certifications, and automation initiatives.
• Provide regular data reports and recommendations to meet site objectives.
• Supervise CI engineers and contribute to hiring decisions.
