Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer to advance continuous improvement across our operations. You will identify, lead, and drive data-driven CI, engineering, and automation initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth.

Interface with multiple levels of the organization and manage CI resources as needed. Ideal candidates have extensive experience with Lean, six sigma, data analysis, and cross-functional project leadership. This role reports to the CI Manager/Sr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Supply Chain with 7+ years in warehousing, transportation or manufacturing.
• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Admin or Supply Chain; MBA ok with undergrad in Engineering.
• 7+ years in warehousing/transportation and/or manufacturing experience.
• Strong MS Office, with emphasis on Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio; Excel expert.
• Data visualization (Power BI/Tableau) and SQL/DAX programming, intermediate.
• Proficiency in Leader Standard Work, Visual Management, PDCA, VSM, Kaizen, 5S/5S-WO.
• Understanding core engineering and data analysis: slotting, labor planning, layouts, metrics.
• Knowledge of WMS and automation tools such as CAD, Slot3D, MOST and related systems.
• Familiarity with dedicated services, managed networks, and tools like JDA/OTM.

Responsibilities

• Collects data, performs analysis, maps processes, and identifies gaps for CI.
• Leads high-impact CI projects across operations; supports start-ups and go-lives.
• Coaches teams in CI, QA, and Lean principles; drives sustained results.
• Facilitates Value Stream Maps and Kaizen events; reports progress to leadership.
• Provides data-driven insights to measure site objectives and logistics strategy.
