Job summary

Vontier is establishing a new Center of Excellence spanning Product Management, Engineering, and Product Marketing to raise the rigor of planning, building, and launching products. The Vice President, Product Excellence will lead this COE, operating largely through influence with business leaders across the portfolio.

The role focuses on creating common standards, tools, and talent practices to drive disciplined product reviews, healthier NPD funnel, and improved customer outcomes while building

Qualifications

• 12–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in product management, engineering, or product marketing.
• Track record building an enterprise-level center of excellence or shared-services function.
• Deep fluency in roadmapping, portfolio strategy, and NPI/stage-gate processes.
• Ability to lead through influence with senior leaders who are not direct reports.
• Experience in industrial technology or related B2B hardware/software environments.
• Willingness to travel 30–40% globally.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the enterprise product operating system for roadmapping and governance.
• Partner with CPOs/engineering leaders to ensure rigorous roadmaps and portfolio decisions.
• Maintain tools, templates, and metrics for disciplined product line reviews.
• Bridge product teams with corporate functions to ensure alignment and support.
• Define enterprise standards for product quality, reliability, and field performance.
• Lead enterprise standards for positioning, launch readiness, and go-to-market rigor.
• Design maturity models, curricula, and career frameworks for product talent.
• Run a lean, high-leverage corporate COE and report progress to executive leadership.
