Work Opportunities Unlimited in Florida is seeking a Vocational Specialist (Career Resource Specialist) to help individuals with disabilities find meaningful employment.

The role requires four years of experience in public vocational rehabilitation and/or workforce development, or an associate’s/bachelor’s/master’s degree with corresponding experience, and includes coaching and job placement responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in a public vocational rehabilitation and/or workforce development setting with individuals with disabilities, including job coaching and job placement.
• Educational requirements correspond to the degree paths listed: Associate, Bachelor, Master with the applicable years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop career goals and objectives with individuals.
• Help clients create a customized resume, fill out applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews.
• Engage with local businesses to create job opportunities.
• Coach and guide individuals at their job sites.
• Travel within the local community for community-based job development (mileage reimbursement).

As an Vocational Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment. Please note that this role would require candidates to have the following experience:

Four years of experience in a public vocational rehabilitation and/or workforce development setting working with individuals with disabilities including responsibilities in job coaching and job placement OR an associate’s degree and three years of experienceOR a bachelor’s degree and two years of experienceOR a master’s degree and one year of experience.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Community-based travel in your personal vehicle to facilitate community-based job development and coaching, ensuring all services are delivered directly in the local environment. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Pay: $19-$21 **room for additional compensation based on supporting clients to achieve successful outcomes**
