Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU) is an employee-owned (ESOP) business dedicated to helping people with diverse skills find meaningful employment since 1982. As an Employment Specialist (Career Resource Specialist), you will assist individuals in finding fulfilling work and guiding them through career development in our local community.

Your day will include helping clients set goals, teaching resume and interview skills, engaging with local employers, and coaching at job sites.

Competenze

• Experience in high-touch customer service environments.
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device.
• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling locally.
• Available Monday–Friday daytime hours with potential for part-time flexibility.

As a Employment Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Provide occasional transportation to interviews and other essential employment milestones, while supporting individuals towards independent community travel. (mileage reimbursement provided)

• Management of a small team

Additional requirements include:

• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday – Friday, daytime business hours (flexibility offered for part-time)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device
