Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited is seeking an Employment Specialist (Career Resource Specialist) to help individuals with disabilities find meaningful employment. The role includes coaching at job sites, resume and interview preparation, and developing local business opportunities.

The position requires travel within the local community, a valid driver’s license, and daytime hours Monday through Friday. Compensation includes a competitive salary with bonus opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in a public vocational rehabilitation and/or workforce development setting working with individuals with disabilities.
• Experience in job coaching and job placement.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within local community.
• Daytime hours Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals develop career goals and objectives.
• Teach resume creation, applications, cover letters, and interview prep.
• Engage with local businesses to create job opportunities.
• Coach and guide individuals at their job sites.
• Travel within the community to deliver services; mileage reimbursement provided.

As an Employment Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment. Please note that this role would require candidates to have the following experience:

Four years of experience in a public vocational rehabilitation and/or workforce development setting working with individuals with disabilities including responsibilities in job coaching and job placement OR an associate’s degree and three years of experience OR a bachelor’s degree and two years of experience OR a master’s degree and one year of experience.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Community-based travel in your personal vehicle to facilitate community-based job development and coaching, ensuring all services are delivered directly in the local environment. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Pay: $19-$21 room for additional compensation based on supporting clients to achieve successful outcomes
