Work Opportunities Unlimited in Rockville, MD is seeking an Employment Specialist (Career Resource Specialist) to help individuals find meaningful employment. You will guide clients to set goals, craft resumes, complete applications, and prepare for interviews.

You will travel locally, connect with businesses to build opportunities, and coach clients at their job sites. The role includes mileage reimbursement and a comprehensive benefits package within a supportive ESOP-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Comfortable using MS Office and documenting notes in an electronic system.

As an Employment Specialist (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist) you will help individuals find meaningful employment.

A typical day might include the following:

• Working with individuals to develop career goals and objectives
• Teaching individuals how to create a customized resume, fill out effective job applications, write cover letters, and prepare for interviews
• Engaging with local businesses to develop potential job opportunities
• Coaching and guiding individuals at their job sites
• Community-based travel in your personal vehicle to facilitate community-based job development and coaching, ensuring all services are delivered directly in the local environment. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Additional requirements include:

• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday – Friday, daytime business hours (with availability between the hours of 9am-6pm)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device
