Job summary

Prudential Financial is seeking an experienced Disability Claims Specialist to serve as the Long Term Disability technical expert for the team. You will guide claim professionals, interpret policy provisions, and apply medical/vocational considerations to determine eligibility and strategy.

You will coach colleagues, provide actionable feedback, and analyze trends to maintain claim block health. The role emphasizes collaboration with leadership and ongoing technical development.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Long-Term Disability claim management experience with technical expertise in complex claim evaluation, consultation, and resolution.
• Advanced knowledge of LTD policy provisions, medical and vocational considerations, benefit calculations, and Social Security interactions.
• Proven ability to analyze complex or high-risk claims, identify issues, and recommend sound strategies.
• Experience coaching claim professionals, giving actionable feedback, and building capability.
• Ability to interpret data, inventory, and trends to improve claim quality and block health.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Long Term Disability technical expert for the Team Lead and claim professionals on complex matters.
• Provide guidance on policy interpretation, medical/vocational considerations, claim strategy, and eligibility.
• Coach professionals through complex scenarios, strengthening critical thinking and consistent practices.
• Deliver timely feedback to build technical capability and support sound decisions.
• Analyze claim activity to identify trends, risks, and coaching opportunities.
• Support inventory and performance monitoring with corrective action prioritization.
