Prudential Financial seeks a Disability Claims Specialist to serve as the Long-Term Disability technical expert, guiding claim professionals and supporting the Team Lead in maintaining claim block health. The role emphasizes technical guidance, complex analysis, and high-quality outcomes in a virtual environment with occasional on-site days.

You will coach colleagues, interpret policy provisions, review complex claims, and help develop resources to promote consistency.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of Long-Term Disability claim management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Long-Term Disability policy provisions, medical and vocational considerations.
• Strong communication, consultation, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to independently analyze complex or high-risk claim scenarios.
• Demonstrated success coaching claim professionals, providing actionable feedback.
• Ability to interpret claim data, inventory indicators, and activity trends.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical expert to Team Lead and claim professionals on complex claim management matters.
• Provide guidance on policy interpretation, medical and vocational considerations, claim strategy, benefit eligibility, and next steps.
• Coach claim professionals through complex scenarios and reinforce sound decision-making.
• Provide timely, actionable feedback to improve technical capability and claim quality.
• Analyze claim activity to identify trends, risks, and coaching opportunities.
• Support Team Lead to monitor claim block health by analyzing inventory and outcomes.
• Develop and maintain technical resources, procedures, and job aids.
• Support additional technical, coaching, analytical, and operational priorities as needed.
