Job summary

Colonial Group in Rochester, NH seeks a Tech-Advisor to deliver high‑quality customer experiences by blending service writing and basic technician duties. You will follow VIP processes, educate customers on vehicle conditions, and support the team to meet safety, quality, and productivity standards.

The role requires hands‑on work at the counter and in the shop, completion of LMS training, ASE certifications, and strong communication. Non‑exempt hourly position with regular 40‑hour weeks.

Qualifications

• One year of related automotive service experience.
• Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current, valid driver’s license.
• ASE Certifications (C1) required; P2/G1/A4/A5 recommended; State Inspection license where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain workplace safety as priority; follow safety policies and trainings.
• Work at the counter as a service writer; educate customers on vehicle condition.
• Assist in the shop as a technician; process work orders per VIP standards.
• Complete LMS and vendor trainings; obtain required ASE certifications.
• Achieve strong customer engagement and productivity through ROI-focused behaviors.
• Communicate with management; contribute to VIP process improvements.
• Maintain facility/equipment standards and compliance with codes.
• Support 5-for-5 customer education and problem-solving processes.
• Attend off-site trainings if needed; participate in team meetings.
