Job summary

VIP, Inc. is seeking a Service Writer to join its automotive service team. The role reports to the Service Manager and requires strong communication and technical knowledge to educate customers on vehicle conditions and service options.

The position is non-exempt/hourly with a 5-day, 40-hour work week. Candidates should pursue LMS and vendor training and maintain ASE and safety certifications as required to support high-quality customer experiences.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in automotive service field.
• Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence.
• Equipment Safety Certification.
• ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required.
• ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended.
• ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended.
• State Inspection License Required (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Serve customers by consulting with them, building relationships, and educating them about vehicle condition based on MPI inspection.
• Follow VIP processes to educate customers and manage expectations for service delivery.
• Achieve above-average customer engagement as measured by SAX score.
• Learn and execute all activities assigned by the Service Manager to improve customer experience.
• Take LMS and vendor training; complete BATS and TPMS related certifications where required.
• Coordinate dispatch and assignment of work orders to technicians using first-available rule.
