Job summary

VIP Tires & Service is seeking a Tech-Advisor in Maine (Arundel) to deliver exceptional customer service and high-performance shop results. You’ll balance counter service as a writer and shop duties as a technician, while achieving VIP standards and ongoing training to stay certified.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and consistent communication, with a 5-day, 40-hour workweek and opportunities to grow through LMS and vendor trainings.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in automotive service field.
• Two-year college or technical school program recommended.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence.
• Equipment Safety Certification.
• ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required.
• ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended.
• ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended.
• ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering.
• ASE Certification A5 – Brakes.
• State Inspection License Required (where applicable)

Responsibilities

• Keep workplace safety as Priority #1 and follow safety policies.
• Work at the counter as a service writer, educating customers on vehicle conditions.
• Assist in the shop as a technician and complete services per VIP standards.
• Complete LMS and vendor training and obtain required certifications.
• Aim for above-average customer engagement and productive billed hours.
• Learn VIP processes and execute duties to deliver a better customer experience.
• Maintain facility and equipment cleanliness and safety.
• Ensure compliance with the service Code of Ethics and regulations.
• Communicate with management to ensure policy adherence and service standards.
• Support management with daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports.
• Follow a 5-day, 40-hour workweek schedule.
