Job summary

Small Door Veterinary is seeking a Veterinarian Recruiter to own the full-cycle recruitment for veterinarians across markets. You will travel to clinics to meet candidates, build referral networks, and plan for new practice openings while maintaining high hiring standards and brand culture.

You will develop targeted outreach, manage candidate communications, and collaborate with field leaders to forecast needs and fill roles with top clinical talent. A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a track record recruiting veterinary roles (5+ years preferred).
• Proven success recruiting scarce, passive clinical talent and keeping candidates engaged over long timelines.
• Strong sourcing skills (LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, etc.).
• Solid understanding of medical terminology (animal or human).
• Relationship-driven, resourceful, self-directed, and willing to travel to meet candidates.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Own the full hiring process for veterinarians and other veterinary roles in assigned markets.
• Build lasting relationships with veterinarians and the broader vet community, not just fill roles.
• Plan for new practice openings, set talent benchmarks, and track candidate progress in the ATS.
• Coordinate on-site interviews and prepare clinic leaders and candidates for success.
• Develop proactive outreach plans to maintain a steady pipeline and reduce vacancy risk.
• Travel to clinics and priority markets to meet candidates and grow referral networks.
• Partner with Regional Directors of Operations, Medical Directors, and Practice Managers to forecast needs.
• Keep candidate records up-to-date and provide market insights to leaders.
