Job summary

Small Door Veterinary is seeking a Veterinarian Recruiter to partner with clinics across markets, building lasting relationships with veterinarians and the broader vet community. You will travel to priority markets, guide candidates through a high-touch process, and shape hiring for new openings with data-driven insights.

You will own sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, and closing, while maintaining an always-on candidate pipeline and collaborating with field leaders to forecast needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with veterinary roles preferred.
• Proven success recruiting scarce passive clinical talent and keeping candidates engaged over long timelines.
• Strong sourcing skills using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, and industry networks.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with veterinarians in assigned markets and maintain active engagement.
• Travel to clinics and priority markets to understand local talent and culture.
• Own the full hiring process for veterinarians: sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, and closing.
• Source creatively through direct outreach, industry networking, job boards, and social media.
• Deliver a white-glove candidate experience with on-site interviews and smooth processes.
• Maintain a steady pipeline of qualified candidates ahead of openings.
• Engage veterinary schools and local communities, hosting events and attending conferences.
• Partner with field leaders to forecast needs and define required skills.
• Use data to track pipeline health and improve sourcing and conversions.
• Build repeatable veterinarian hiring playbooks and collaborate with other recruiters.
