Job summary

Small Door Veterinary is seeking a Veterinarian Recruiter to grow our veterinary teams across markets. You’ll build lasting relationships with veterinarians, travel to clinics to understand local talent, and guide candidates from first contact through onboarding with a high-touch, thoughtful experience.

You’ll own the full hiring process for veterinarians, source passive talent, and collaborate with leadership to forecast needs while maintaining an engaged candidate pipeline.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a track record recruiting veterinary roles (5+ years preferred).
• Proven success recruiting scarce, passive clinical talent and keeping candidates engaged over long timelines.
• Strong sourcing skills (LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, etc.).
• Solid understanding of medical terminology (animal or human).
• Executive presence, sound judgment, and excellent written and verbal communication.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment; you take initiative and make thoughtful decisions quickly.
• Relationship-driven, resourceful, self-directed, and excited to travel and build trust in person.
• Bachelor's degree required.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships that last. Be the main recruiting partner for veterinarians in your assigned markets.
• Show up in person. Travel to clinics and markets to meet candidates and grow referral networks.
• Own the full hiring process for veterinarians. Sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding.
• Source creatively. Reach passive veterinarians through direct outreach, networking, job boards, and social media.
• Deliver a white-glove candidate experience. Coordinate on-site interviews and prep clinics for candidates.
• Keep a pipeline that’s always on. Maintain a steady bench of veterinarians across experience levels.
• Engage the veterinary community. Plan events, connect with schools, and participate in CE events.
• Partner with field leaders. Forecast needs with Regional Directors and medical leadership.
• Bring clarity with data. Maintain candidate records and provide pipeline insights in real time.
• Build repeatable playbooks. Develop consistent veterinarian hiring practices across markets.
• Work as a team. Collaborate with other recruiters to meet all hiring needs.
