Job summary

Small Door Veterinary is seeking a Veterinarian Recruiter to partner with our markets for full-cycle recruitment of veterinarians and clinical staff. You’ll travel to clinics, build lasting relationships, and develop a high-touch candidate experience that aligns with our mission and culture.

You’ll plan outreach, maintain a robust pipeline, and collaborate with field leaders to forecast needs and optimize hiring across Northeast, Midwest, and beyond.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in veterinary roles
• Proven success recruiting scarce passive clinical talent and keeping candidates engaged
• Strong sourcing skills using LinkedIn Recruiter and Boolean search
• Executive presence with strong written and verbal communication and the ability to influence senior clinicians
• Adaptable in a fast-paced environment, takes initiative and makes swift decisions
• Relationship-driven, resourceful, self-directed, and willing to travel to build trust in person

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with veterinarians in assigned markets and engage active and passive candidates
• Travel to clinics and priority markets to meet candidates and expand referral networks
• Own full hiring process for veterinarians, including sourcing, screening, interviews, offers, and closing
• Source creatively via outreach, industry networking, job boards, and social media
• Coordinate on-site interviews and prepare clinic leaders for candidate meetings
• Maintain a steady pipeline of veterinarians across experience levels for future openings
• Engage veterinary schools and local communities; plan events and attend conferences
• Collaborate with field leaders to forecast needs and define skill requirements
• Maintain accurate candidate records and provide real-time pipeline insights
