Job description

Clairmont Animal Hospital is an AAHA-accredited, full-service veterinary clinic dedicated to the treatment of cats and dogs. We are open seven days a week for general, advanced, and emergency veterinary treatment, and we also offer pet boarding.

Since 1990, our veterinarians and staff have been serving the pets of Decatur, Atlanta, and the surrounding area from our same location. We remain committed to providing the best veterinary care and the latest medical technology for dogs and cats.

As a Receptionist, you will:

  • Receive and place calls to clients for scheduling.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks in a calm, organized manner.
  • Maintain proper documentation through client and pet records, such as referral documentation and medical history.
  • Assist clients by providing instructions, information, invoices, dispensing prescriptions as directed by the veterinarian, and scheduling future appointments.
  • Use hospital computer systems to document medical records and communicate with clients and team members.
  • Manage the hospital's financial transactions accurately, following cash and credit procedures, and proper opening and closing protocols.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally.
  • Educate clients on pet health, preventative care, treatment options, and hospital services.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in all interactions with clients, pets, and team members.
  • Show empathy toward clients and treat pets with compassion and respect.
  • Operate standard office and business equipment.
  • Possess knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures.
  • Have a flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays.
  • Experience with veterinary software is preferred.
  • Work independently and accept direction on tasks.
  • Organizational skills are essential.
  • Apply critical thinking to identify solutions and evaluate approaches.
  • Communicate effectively, exercise good judgment, and manage stressful situations.
  • Pay range of $11.35-$19.50/hour based on experience.
