Job summary

PetVet Care Centers is seeking a Hospital Manager to lead a busy animal hospital by developing an efficient support team and fostering trust, teamwork, and accountability. The role partners with the Veterinarian to drive revenue, manage costs, and maintain high-quality patient care and service throughout the hospital.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum five years of direct office management experience, including at least two years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to provide courteous, prompt, and efficient customer service.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and organization-specific software.
• Strong time management and organizational skills; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff within all hospital support departments; achieves and maintains labor goals.
• Hires and trains office and technical clinic staff; responsible for new hire paperwork.
• Orients and trains new clinic staff to the hospital and duties.
• Delivers feedback on performance; conducts weekly discussions with the Regional Manager.
• Conducts timely performance appraisals.
• Documents and reports accidents; files appropriate reports.
• Develops and writes policies and procedures for hospital operations and seeks approval.
• Manages schedules for technical and administrative staff in coordination with the DVM.
• Monitors overtime and attendance; oversees daily workforce management.
• Oversees daily operations and ensures administrative responsibilities are met.
• Manages budgets, purchases equipment and supplies, and oversees facility maintenance.
• Oversees billing practices and ensures invoices are accurate; collects local vendor documents.
• Resolves issues with pet owners when appropriate; liaises with leadership on revenue and labor targets.
• Manages local accounting functions and ensures accurate financial info.
• Oversees inventory control and documentation; maintains billing accuracy and vendor relations.
• Ensures licensure compliance for DVMs and implements compliance measures.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager.
