Job summary

SMC is seeking a Service Technician to perform hands-on repairs and maintenance on apartment assets. You will diagnose problems and fix HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, exterior structure, tiling, masonry, and appliances to meet company standards and legal requirements.

The role requires documenting service requests, preventive maintenance, and participation in on‑call rotations. A valid driver's license and ability to lift heavy objects are essential for on-site work.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance-related field(s).
• Completion of Basic Electric class at SMC internal training facility or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests.
• Assist with inventory maintenance.
• Diagnose heat problems and repair or replace components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC units and other systems.
• Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Ensure all work and documentation comply with quality standards.
• Maintain tools per SMC checklist.
