Job summary

SMC is seeking a Service Technician to ensure community assets meet company standards and laws. You will diagnose problems, perform repairs and provide hands-on troubleshooting across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, masonry, and appliances.

The role includes documenting service requests, maintaining supplies, and on-call rotation. Candidates should have strong customer service, clear written/verbal communication, and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in a maintenance-related field.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to document service requests and keep neat records.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, masonry, and appliances.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests.
• Maintain inventory of supplies.
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC units.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance inspections.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• Make repairs to grounds and drainage.
• Ensure all work and documentation comply with quality standards.
• Maintain personal tools per SMC checklist.
• Address emergency maintenance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
