Job summary

SMC seeks a Service Technician in Alexandria, VA to diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and related systems in the community assets. You will provide hands-on troubleshooting to ensure assets meet company standards and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include documenting service requests, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and participating in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in maintenance-related field(s).
• Successful completion of Basic Electric class offered at SMC internal training facility
• Successful completion of all other basic maintenance classes offered internally and all on-the-job training within one year of hire date

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests
• Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies
• Perform preventive maintenance on fan coil and convector HVAC unit
• Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
• Make repairs to grounds and drainage
• Ensure all work and documentation comply with internal quality control standards
• Maintain personal supply of tools as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist
• Address emergency maintenance as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
• Contribute to community and company engagement efforts
