Job summary

smc external careers is seeking a Service Technician to ensure the physical assets of the community meet company standards and applicable laws. You will diagnose problems and perform repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, masonry, tiling, and appliances.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, strong customer service, accurate record-keeping, and the ability to lift heavy loads as part of a maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Seven years of experience in maintenance-related field(s).
• Completion of basic maintenance classes and on-the-job training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests.
• Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies.
• Diagnose HVAC problems and repair or replace components as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on fan coil and convector HVAC units.
• Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled.
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled.
• Make repairs to grounds and drainage. Ensure all work and documentation comply with internal quality control standards.
• Maintain personal supply of tools as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist.
• Address emergency maintenance as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
• Contribute to community and company engagement efforts.
