Job summary

Empower Mental Health is seeking a licensed Audiologist to perform VA-required C&P evaluations on a contractor basis. The role focuses on structured testing, records review, focused history, and precise documentation for Veterans.

This non-treatment, evaluation-only position emphasizes objectivity, accuracy, and timely reporting, with no ongoing patient care or insurance billing. In-person evaluations are available; flexible scheduling may complement current practice.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Audiologist license.
• Must have access to a calibrated audiometer capable of performing VA-required hearing evaluations.
• Must have access to a diagnostic tympanometer capable of performing tympanometry and acoustic reflex testing.
• Master's Degree or higher in relevant field.
• Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
• Ability to follow structured evaluation protocols.
• Comfortable performing objective, fact-based evaluations.
• Comfortable Maryland CNC speech recognition testing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) audiology evaluations for Veterans.
• Perform structured hearing loss and tinnitus-related evaluations based on VA guidelines.
• Review relevant medical records and examination information.
• Obtain relevant history through focused, objective interviews.
• Perform required audiometric testing and related clinical documentation as required.
• Prepare clear, concise, and timely reports in VA-required formats.
• Provide objective, fact-based findings without influencing the outcome of a Veteran's claim.
• Submit completed examination documentation within required timeframes.
• Maintain clear boundaries between evaluation and treatment.
• Follow all applicable ethical, legal, professional, and confidentiality requirements.
