Job summary

Empower Mental Health is seeking a licensed audiologist for VA-related compensation and pension evaluations. The role focuses on structured testing, records review, and producing VA-compliant reports. This is a flexible, non-treatment evaluation position with no ongoing patient care.

The ideal candidate holds an active license, access to VA-required equipment, and can work as an independent contractor. In-person opportunities are available to qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Audiologist license.
• Access to a calibrated audiometer capable of VA evaluations.
• Access to a diagnostic tympanometer for tympanometry and reflex testing.
• Master's Degree or higher in audiology or a related field.
• Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
• Ability to follow structured evaluation protocols.
• Comfortable with Maryland CNC speech recognition testing.
• Access to specialized audiology equipment listed above.

Responsibilities

• Conduct C&P audiology evaluations for Veterans.
• Perform structured hearing loss and tinnitus-related evaluations per VA guidelines.
• Review medical records and examination information.
• Obtain focused history through interviews.
• Perform audiometric testing and document findings.
• Prepare clear VA-formatted reports with objective findings.
• Maintain objectivity and avoid influencing claims outcomes.
• Submit documentation within required timeframes.
• Maintain boundaries between evaluation and treatment.
• Adhere to ethical, legal, professional, and confidentiality standards.
