Job summary

Motorola Solutions’ Silvus Technologies unit seeks a Business Development Engineer for USSOCOM to bridge RF engineering with defense requirements. You will engage in field trials, support network configurations, and produce technical demos for multi-domain operations.

You’ll travel up to 50% to customer sites and labs, while collaborating across engineering and business development to translate field needs into product roadmaps. Active SECRET clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2–5 years of experience; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communications systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain within 15 months; must be a U.S. Citizen for contracts.
• All employment contingent on background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing USSOCOM capability gaps and design goals to map operational needs to tactical radio solutions.
• Support planning, network configuration, and live field trials and evaluations.
• Collaborate with the team to leverage testing data and benchmark to verify architectures.
• Coordinate with Business Development to align technical needs with strategic priorities.
• Contribute to technical demonstrations and end-to-end network architectures for USSOCOM contexts.
