Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking a Business Development Engineer for the US Marine Corps to bridge RF capabilities with defense customer needs. You will support field trials, demonstrations, and technical validation of the StreamCaster MANET radios in expeditionary and tactical environments.

The role requires up to 50% travel and may offer a remote working option depending on location. A SECRET clearance and US citizenship are prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related C5ISR field with 2-5 years of experience in systems engineering, technical business development, or defense technology roles; OR High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of relevant technical or defense experience.
• Exposure to or working knowledge of Software-Defined Radios (SDRs), IP-based routing protocols, or tactical communication systems.
• Basic familiarity with RF test equipment, such as spectrum analyzers and signal generators.
• Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• All employment is contingent upon successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing USMC operational priorities and mapping operational requirements to tactical radio solutions.
• Support technical planning, network configuration, and live-on-the-air execution of field trials, modernizations, and user evaluations.
• Collaborate with the Applications Engineering team to leverage continuous testing and benchmarking data.
• Maintain alignment with the Business Development team to support technical needs and strategic priorities.
• Assist in building and presenting technical demonstrations tailored to expeditionary networking needs.
• Contribute technical input for RFI/RFP proposal responses.
• Perform market research to identify potential integrations with industry partners.
• Engage with MARCORSYSCOM, MCWL, PEO Land Systems, and naval warfare centers.
• Gather field feedback to translate requirements into product roadmap inputs.
