Job summary

Carter Myers Automotive (CMA) seeks an experienced Used Car Manager to lead our pre-owned operations across two established dealerships. You will drive inventory management, pricing strategy, merchandising, and team development to maximize sales and profitability.

Responsible for sourcing quality inventory, optimizing margins, and coordinating with Sales, Finance, Service, and Marketing to deliver a best-in-class customer experience. Strong leadership and market acumen required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of used vehicle management experience preferred.
• Proven success managing inventory and department profitability.
• Strong understanding of inventory acquisition, pricing, and merchandising.
• Experience with auction purchasing and vehicle valuation tools.
• Demonstrated leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and customer service abilities.
• Proficiency with dealership management systems and inventory software.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the used vehicle department to maximize sales and profitability.
• Source quality inventory through auctions, trade-ins, service lane acquisitions, and private purchases.
• Analyze market trends and adjust pricing to maximize gross profit.
• Manage inventory levels, aging, reconditioning timelines, and merchandising standards.
• Partner with Sales, Finance, Service, and Marketing for a seamless customer experience.
• Coach and develop the sales team to hit goals.
• Monitor KPIs including inventory turn, gross profit, days' supply, and sales volume.
• Ensure compliance with dealership policies and manufacturer standards.
• Build relationships with customers, vendors, and auction partners.
