Scripps Health is hiring a Patient Service Specialist - ED at the Scripps Coastal Medical Center Oceanside. This full-time role (72 hours per pay period) supports urgent care operations with day shift and 12-hour shifts, including some weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Interacting with patients, payers, and providers to gather information for accurate registration.
• Manage patient check-in/check-out including ID verification and updating demographic info.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect patient responsibility.
• Schedule and reschedule patient appointments per guidelines.
• Assist with billing inquiries and financial counseling information.

Responsabilités

• Assign Medical Record Numbers and referrals; collect payments at point of service.
• Route messages and handle department billing inquiries as needed.
• Verify coverage, benefits, and authorizations; prepare end-of-day reporting.
• Coordinate scheduling, travel planning needs, and department communications.
• Support the patient care team and assist clinical staff as required.
