Job summary

Northwest Healthcare’s Urgent Care Center in Tucson, AZ seeks a Patient Services Representative to be the first contact for patients and visitors in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will handle patient registration, verify insurance, schedule appointments, collect payments, and ensure a positive patient experience.

The role requires 1–2 years of front desk experience and proficiency with EMR systems, scheduling tools, and office software.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of customer service, administrative, or healthcare front office experience required.
• Prior experience in a clinic, urgent care, or physician office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and visitors promptly and professionally, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Registers patients by verifying demographic, insurance, and financial information accurately and efficiently.
• Collects copays and balances, posts payments, and provides receipts in accordance with facility protocols.
• Schedules follow-up appointments and coordinates referrals as directed by clinical staff or providers.
• Answers multi-line phones, responds to patient inquiries, and routes calls to appropriate departments.
• Ensures all required forms, consents, and documents are completed and scanned into the EMR.
• Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the front desk, waiting area, and shared workspaces.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and OSHA compliance.
