Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to thrive in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will support providers with exams, administer medications, and perform tasks such as blood draws and specimen collection in a team-driven environment.

Responsibilities include wound care, splinting, and basic procedures, with emphasis on patient flow, safety, and EMR/EHR proficiency. This role emphasizes compassionate patient care in a dynamic clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program OR national MA certification.
• Certification through CMA/AMT/CCMA is acceptable for unapproved programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with exams and patient vitals under supervision.
• Administer medications per policy and safety protocols.
• Perform blood draws and may collect urine samples for testing.
• May perform splinting, casting, and sports physicals.
• Provide wound care and oxygen administration as needed.
• Notify provider or clinic manager of safety concerns and unusual events.
• Proficient in EMR/EHR systems.
