Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant to support both clinical front and back office operations. You will assist providers with exams, perform vitals, and help with procedures under supervision, while also handling patient check-in, discharge, and payments.

Proficiency in EMR/EHR is required and various MA training pathways are accepted. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced urgent care setting, with 12-hour shifts and onsite work.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; AND
• Completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
• OR Completed an unapproved (non-accredited) program AND national certification (CMA/AMT/CCMA)
• ALL STATES require high school diploma and MA training; certification via CMA/AMT/CCMA optional depending on path

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with exams and patient vitals under supervision.
• Administer medications per policy and safety protocols.
• Perform blood draws and urine collection for tests.
• Support front office reception: manage wait times, discharge processes, charges and signatures.
• Ensure proficiency with EMR/EHR and clinic policies.
• Provide care in back office and support front desk operations.
