Job summary

NextCare is seeking a energetic Medical Assistant to support both front-office and clinical duties in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will manage patient flow, assist with exams, perform venipuncture, collect specimens, and ensure accurate EMR documentation under supervision.

The ideal candidate has completed an approved Medical Assistant program or holds a CMA/CCMA/AMT/NHA certification, and demonstrates strong customer service and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of high school diploma or GED.
• Completed an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
• OR completed an UNAPPROVED Medical Assistant training program AND a National Certification (CMA/CCMA/AMT/NHA).
• OR completed an UNAPPROVED program AND 2000 hours supervised work experience.

Responsibilities

• Front office duties: inform patients, monitor flow, process discharge and payments.
• Medical Assistant duties: assist with exams, administer medications per policy, draw blood, collect samples.
• Perform urinary collection, splinting, casting and wound care as needed.
• Maintain EMR/EHR documentation and follow safety protocols.
