Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced team. The role includes patient care, vital signs, blood draws, medication administration, and front-office support to ensure smooth patient flow.

Candidate must complete an approved Medical Assistant program or have a recognized certification; strong EMR/EHR skills and teamwork are essential in this busy clinic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program is preferred.
• Alternative: unapproved MA program plus national certification (CMA/AMT/CCMA) may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with exams and patient care under direct supervision.
• Administers medications per policy and provider direction.
• Perform blood draws as directed by the Provider.
• Collect urine samples for testing including employer drug screens.
• May perform splinting and casting.
• Conduct sports physicals and other physicals as needed.
• Provide wound care and oxygen administration as required.
• Notify provider on duty of unusual patient occurrences and medication events.
• Be proficient in EMR/EHR and maintain accurate documentation.
• Support front office reception duties when required.
