Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care in Waco, TX is seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to support exams, patient flow, and front-office activities in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Responsibilities include assisting providers, drawing blood, handling specimens, and ensuring accurate EMR documentation. Requires MA training and national certification, with benefits including medical and dental coverage, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Completed an approved Medical Assistant training program.
• National certification (CMA, RMA or CCMA) or eligible.
• Proficient with EMR/EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with exams and vitals under supervision.
• Administers medications per policy and safety protocols.
• Performs blood draws and urine collections as directed.
• May perform splinting, casting and minor procedures.
• Conducts sports physicals and other urgent-care tasks.
• Maintains EMR/EHR accuracy and documentation.
• Supports front office duties as needed (check-in, payments).
• Notifies provider of unusual patient events and safety concerns.
