Job summary

Baystate Health seeks an OA MT for a busy acute care unit in Springfield, MA. You will coordinate daily activities with the charge nurse, manage bed assignments and patient throughput, and serve as a unit-based resource for hospitalist teams.

You will handle patient records, admissions, discharges, and communications with several departments. Requires 3 years of acute care experience and a dysrhythmia course within 6 weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• 3 years Acute Care Experience with at least one year as Level II OA MT at BH
• GED or HiSET (Required)
• Must take and pass required dysrhythmia course (telemetry) within 6 weeks of hire
• OAS Gold Training, Conflict Resolution Training, Delegation Training, Team Training, Critical thinking skills, Ability to organize and prioritize, Ability to read and write in English

Responsibilities

• Bed Management: Tracks, prioritizes and assigns beds and coordinates admissions, discharges and transfers
• Unit administrative tasks including chart management, discharge paperwork, and scheduling
• Serve as unit greeter and liaison with hospital departments to facilitate patient care and throughput
• Maintain patient charts, discharge/admission logs, and keep records up to date
• Assist Hospitalists and clinical teams with rounds, phone calls, faxes and consults
• Observe and report patient monitoring such as ECGs and telemetry notes
