Baystate Health is seeking an Operations Associate/Monitor Technician for the Medical/Surgical team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. The role supports admissions, bed management, and patient flow within a busy hospital environment.

The OA/MT will monitor cardiac activity, ensure timely handoffs, and assist with rounds and daily assignments, while maintaining documentation across unit systems. This position is part-time with 32 hours weekly, second shift.

Qualifications

• Effective clinical and team communication.
• Administrative and unit support duties.
• Support for hospitalists and care teams.
• Monitoring of cardiac monitors and patient safety measures.

Responsibilities

• Bed management and patient flow coordination.
• Central communication resource for nurses, physicians, and teams.
• Accurate use of hospital systems and maintenance of patient records and logs.
• Support hospitalists and teaching teams with rounds and follow-ups.
• Observe monitors, report abnormal rhythms, initiate emergency procedures.
• Maintain competencies including telemetry training and CPR/BLS when applicable.
