Unit Manager (RN) Job Description
We rely on and trust our Unit Manager (RN) to provide independent supervision of the delivery of care to a group of residents in a nursing unit. Responsibilities include assessing resident needs, developing individual care plans, administering nursing care, and evaluating nursing care. The role also involves supervising Nurses, Care Specialists (CNAs), and other personnel, including potentially supervising other RNs.

Responsibilities
- Ensure the delivery of effective, quality nursing care focused on outcomes through the nursing process. Identify needs and contribute to discharge planning and follow-up throughout the stay.
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with residents, responsible parties, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Implement care plans consistently, effectively, and cost-efficiently, focusing on resident-centered outcomes, utilizing all available resources for counseling and discharge planning. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals by sharing relevant information.
- Provide and maintain optimal resident care and comfort by demonstrating current nursing practices.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in practicing state
- Current CPR certification (must be obtained within 90 days of hire if not already certified)
- Recent clinical experience or education specific to geriatrics
- Ability to maintain regular attendance
