Job summary

Atlanta Gas Light is seeking an entry-level technician to join a distribution crew installing, maintaining and repairing gas mains and service lines. You will perform basic tasks with heavy equipment, hand tools, leak checks, meter readings, and ERT installations, while adhering to safety standards and company procedures.

The role sits in a bargaining unit with progression under the IBEW Local 1997 agreement; strong mechanical aptitude and safe work habits are essential for daily field duties

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; basic mechanical aptitude and hand-tool knowledge.
• Ability to pass basic skills and knowledge assessments; valid driver's license.
• Experience with field operations and safety practices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing, maintaining, and repairing gas mains and services.
• Operate basic equipment and tools; perform traffic control and landscaping tasks.
• Record pressure data and assist with meter readings and ERT duties.
• Help connect/disconnect gas service and assist with leak investigations.
• Follow safety regulations and document activities in mobile systems.
