Job summary

Atlanta Gas Light is seeking an entry-level crew member to support field operations, focusing on meter reads, service connections, and maintenance of gas distribution systems. You will work with a crew to install, repair and maintain mains and services while following safety practices.

The role involves operating basic equipment, reading meters, and assisting in inspections and maintenance activities, with a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude required.
• Ability to pass basic skills and knowledge assessments.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Knowledge of MS Office and basic computer skills.
• Experience with heavy equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete distribution crew tasks including meter reads, service connections, and maintenance.
• Operate basic equipment and tools, perform digging, shoring, and pipe work.
• Inspect meters, read meters, and perform ERT programming as needed.
• Assist in deploying and maintaining gas distribution systems.
• Maintain safety, comply with regulatory guidelines, and document activities.
