Job summary

Atlanta Gas Light is seeking an entry-level general technician for below-ground work. You will join a crew installing, maintaining, and repairing gas mains and service lines, using basic tools and heavy equipment where needed, and supporting meter readings and ERT tasks.

Responsibilities include assisting with leaks, pipe testing, and documentation, while adhering to safety rules and company policies. Valid driver's license and basic skills assessments are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic hand tools knowledge needed.
• Ability to pass basic skills and knowledge assessments.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Experience with field operations and safety practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation, repair, and maintenance of gas mains and services.
• Operate basic equipment and tools; manage traffic control and landscaping.
• Dig, repair leaks, test pipes, and perform meter reading and ERT duties.
• Observe safety requirements and document activities in field systems.
• Support in connecting/disconnecting gas service and investigations of issues.
