Job summary

Atlanta Gas Light in Atlanta, GA is seeking an entry-level team member for field operations supporting gas distribution. You will assist with deactivation of service, meter reading, ERT installations, and basic leak investigations as part of a crew.

This role requires safe operation of basic equipment and adherence to company safety practices. The position includes close teamwork on distribution activities, traffic control, and seasonal maintenance tasks across above and below ground systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Mechanical aptitude is required.
• Basic knowledge and use of hand tools and equipment.
• Ability to pass basic skills and knowledge assessments.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently completes a route to finish customer and compliance orders.
• Observes safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Captures documentation in the Mobile Data Terminal.
• Assists in connecting/disconnecting gas service and turning meters on/off.
• Investigates high bill complaints and stop meters by meter reading validation.
• Performs regular meter inspections and maintenance of gas systems.
• Responds to customer questions and provides clear answers.
