Job summary

Atlanta Gas Light is seeking an entry level field technician to support crew operations across gas mains and service lines. You will read meters, perform basic leak checks, and assist in turning meters on and off at customer premises.

The role includes manual tasks, safety procedures, and routine maintenance under a bargaining unit agreement. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic tools experience, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to work in diverse outdoor

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic tool and equipment knowledge; mechanical aptitude.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass assessments.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently completes a route of customer and compliance orders per policies.
• Observe safety and regulatory guidelines and document in the Mobile Data Terminal.
• Assist in connecting/disconnecting gas service and meter readings.
• Perform basic leak investigations, meter inspections and maintenance.
• Support distribution activities including digging, traffic control and landscape work.
