Job summary

Atlanta Gas Light is seeking an entry-level general technician for below-ground work on gas mains and service lines. You will support the crew with basic tasks, meter reads, leak checks and inspections, while upholding safety standards and company procedures.

The role requires high school diploma or GED, mechanical aptitude, and a valid driver's license. Prior field experience is a plus, and formal welding or heavy equipment skills are not mandatory at start.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of hand tools expected.
• Good written and verbal communication skills required.
• Able to pass basic skills and knowledge assessments.
• Valid Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installing, repairing and maintaining gas mains and service lines.
• Operate basic equipment and tools as directed by crew leads.
• Assist with traffic control, landscaping, and general maintenance.
• Perform meter reads, leak checks and basic inspections.
• Document activities in relevant logs and reports.
• Follow safety guidelines and company procedures at all times.
