You will travel to sites to perform on-site repairs, perform component replacements, and ensure continuous production while upholding rigorous safety standards. The role emphasizes hands-on mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical work, with strong diagnostic skills and ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ practical experience in underground or heavy equipment service roles.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or one year of post-secondary technical education in a related field.
• Prior exposure to underground mining environments is highly desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting, repair and maintenance skills with emphasis on reliability and safety.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing training and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, and repair underground mining machinery to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Travel to underground sites to perform on-site repairs and component replacements.
• Conduct post-repair testing to ensure equipment meets safety and performance standards.
• Interpret schematics and manuals, especially for low voltage control systems, for precise repairs.
• Align and calibrate motor couplings, gearboxes, and related assemblies to specs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements in underground environments.
• Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to report findings and support improvements.
