Job summary

Komatsu Mining Corp. seeks an Underground Field Service Technician to maintain and repair underground mining equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and safety. You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems and perform on-site repairs at underground sites to keep production moving.

Familiarity with schematics and low-voltage controls is key, along with a commitment to continuous learning and safety compliance in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' underground or heavy equipment service experience.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship or one year of technical education.
• Underground mining experience is highly desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting and safety-focused maintenance skills.
• Ability to read manuals and schematics and work with low voltage controls.
• Willingness to ongoing training and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, inspect, and repair underground mining machinery to minimize downtime.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
• Perform on-site repairs at underground sites to keep production flowing.
• Test repaired systems to ensure safety and performance.
• Interpret schematics and technical manuals for precise repairs.
• Align and calibrate components to manufacturer specifications.
• Follow all safety protocols and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to implement improvements.
