Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking an Underground Field Service Technician to maintain and optimize underground mining machinery. You will diagnose, repair, and service mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems at customer sites, ensuring high uptime and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' practical experience in underground or heavy equipment service.
• Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or one year of post-secondary technical education in a related field.
• Preference for underground mining environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance skills focusing on reliability and safety.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and safety documents.

Responsibilities

• Execute thorough maintenance, inspection, and repair of underground mining machinery to minimize downtime.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with accuracy.
• Travel to underground sites to perform on-site repairs and component replacements.
• Perform post-repair testing to verify equipment meets safety and manufacturer standards.
• Work from schematics and manuals, especially for low voltage control systems.
• Align and calibrate motors, transfer cases, gearboxes to manufacturer specs.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory requirements for underground environments.
• Coordinate with supervisors and engineers to report findings and support improvements.
